Guys of reddit, what is a common mistake that girls make when they try to flirt with you?
- My girlfriend at one point (before we were dating) said: "HAHA us dating wouldn't that be crazy" I got really offended and thought tt myself "wow I guess she doesn't want to date if she thinks it's a joke" it's a good thing I talked to one of my female friends the next day who helped me understand that it was a hint. Point is men don't understand hints.

- They think I'm smart enough to pick up hints lol

- We don't pick up on those tiny "hints". **At. All.** And when we do it's at a really inopportune time, like when we're brushing our teeth before going to bed. Or when we're stuck in the middle of traffic on a highway.

- At a bar, a girl playfully slapped me on the shoulder and said "You should buy me a drink!".
Maybe she thought I was attractive, maybe not. But I felt like she just wanted a free drink and I would have felt like a sucker if I bought her one.

- They dont....
My experience with girls is they stare at you until you pick up that they like you and then I have to walk up and say whats good

- Thinking it's getting across.
It's not. Be more obvious.

- They play games. Just get on with it already!

- I’m socially awkward as fuck. We’re in an era where a lot of guys are. Don’t assume we’re immediately going to know your flirting with us.

- Being direct is the way to my heart every time

- It's hard for me to tell whether a girl is flirting or just being nice.

- They think I am the age that I look.
I'm a decade older than I look, and it's *super* uncomfortable when a teenager hits on me.
— TheRealHooks
- Flirting with me probably *would* be the mistake.
