Guys of reddit, what is a common mistake that girls make when they try to flirt with you?

  1. My girlfriend at one point (before we were dating) said: "HAHA us dating wouldn't that be crazy" I got really offended and thought tt myself "wow I guess she doesn't want to date if she thinks it's a joke" it's a good thing I talked to one of my female friends the next day who helped me understand that it was a hint. Point is men don't understand hints.

  2. They think I'm smart enough to pick up hints lol

  3. We don't pick up on those tiny "hints". **At. All.** And when we do it's at a really inopportune time, like when we're brushing our teeth before going to bed. Or when we're stuck in the middle of traffic on a highway.

  4. At a bar, a girl playfully slapped me on the shoulder and said "You should buy me a drink!". Maybe she thought I was attractive, maybe not. But I felt like she just wanted a free drink and I would have felt like a sucker if I bought her one.

  5. They dont.... My experience with girls is they stare at you until you pick up that they like you and then I have to walk up and say whats good

  6. Thinking it's getting across. It's not. Be more obvious.

  7. They play games. Just get on with it already!

  8. I’m socially awkward as fuck. We’re in an era where a lot of guys are. Don’t assume we’re immediately going to know your flirting with us.

  9. Being direct is the way to my heart every time

  10. It's hard for me to tell whether a girl is flirting or just being nice.

  11. They think I am the age that I look. I'm a decade older than I look, and it's *super* uncomfortable when a teenager hits on me.

  12. Flirting with me probably *would* be the mistake.
