What's the best thing you've ever found at a yard sale?

  1. I haven't found anything myself but I'm sure someone else was pumped to find my sega saturn, 30 games, 2 regular controllers and 2 arcade controllers for 15 dollars at the yard sale my mom had. "Well I didn't think you'd want to keep that, you live so far away now." A 2 minute phone call could have cleared up that mystery there mom, thought I had it with me in an unopened box. Do I sound salty? I feel salty.

  2. My dad found a first-edition The Hobbit in a pile of books he got from Freecycle. Sold that on eBay for over $6k

  3. Amateur porn. I came across an original VHS of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (1993? I think) and anyway, for nostalgia purposes, I figured I would buy it and watch the old VHS version... Turns out, the sellers recorded over the film with amateur porn from like 20 years ago I guess they had forgotten about.

  8. I got a charcoal smoker for 5 bucks, worked great cause I had helped cut down an Apple tree earlier that year so I was able to snag the wood.

  9. A working, fully-restored 1960s Underwood typewriter. It was painted white, had all new ribbons and keys (but were the original style). Being a writer, I wanted it. The vendor wanted $70 for it. I had $65 on me at the time. The vendor wouldn't sell it for 65 and I left the sale without it.

  13. My mom loves Charlie Chaplin. My Dad and I found an old book about him at an outdoor book sale for $1. We brought it home and showed it to my Mom. When she opened it, it was autographed!! Lucky!

  14. This wasn't my find, but a friend gave me a box of things he got at yard sales as a wedding present. My favorite item in the box was a kid's sticker book from some police department that had weird stickers like suspects being led away in handcuffs and beaten with nightsticks.
