Reddit, what does our culture over-value?

  1. Over-working ourselves

  2. I think people put a lot of energy and stress into maintaining their 'brand'. It's like people have tied their self worth to their social media, because others expect that of them.

  3. Fame

  4. Age. We over value being young to the point of forcing ourselves to act or look young for too long. On the flipside over value that being an older age means you are automatically wise.

  5. Opinions. Apparently all people are allowed to have a valid opinion on anything they like, doesn't seem to matter if they know a damn thing about it. Stupid people are getting louder thanks to social media. edit: some people are confused apparently - ** I never said people shouldnt have opinions**, we just over-value opinions and treat them as equal when they aren't.. also thanks for gold <3

  6. Celebrities in general

  7. Social media. While it's not *bad*, it certainly can be anywhere from a distraction to an obsession in everyday life. Every so often I make sure I give myself a break for a week or more. Best decision I've made.

  8. Avocados. Like holy shit I'm from Chile and these thingies cost like 3 to 4 more times than in the countries we export them to
