What is your favorite podcast to pass the time?
- History of Rome by Mike Duncan. Complete now, he covers from mythical founding to around 700AD. Very accessible and he has a wonderful slightly folksy delivery which keeps 1400 or so years of history entertaining. He's also doing Revolutions, the story of the US one was good for me as a Brit as it's not something I did in detail at school.

- No Such Thing As A Fish. It's crack for people who like trivia and snappy banter.

- The Worst Idea of All Time: two New Zealanders watch Grown Ups 2 every week and slowly descend into madness
— Patterson32
- Criminal. It's (obviously) about crime, but it tends to be off-the-beaten path stuff, like the Venus fly trap black market, or the guy who has some decent evidence that his wife was killed by an owl.

- How did this get made. You don't have to have watched the movies they're talking about to enjoy it. I've laughed incredibly hard while listening to the podcast many times.

- **My Brother, My Brother, and Me** (Comedy Advice podcast from the 3 McElroy Brothers)
**The Official Podcast** (Comedy regular podcast from Kr1t1kal and his various friends, gets a lot of infamous youtubers/personalities)
**Shmucks** (Comedy regular podcast from Psychicpebbles/Zach, has had some big youtubers as well)
**Sleepycast** (Sleepy Cabin members or various newgrounds/youtube animators, doesn't update much anymore, will officially end soon)
The later 3 aren't as safe for work as MBMBAM, but I enjoy them because I like hearing these people just talk and say stupid shit to make eachother laugh. Psychicpebbles/Zach specifically is REALLY funny even if he's a bit off-color with his humour.
I'f also love recs for other comedy podcasts like these.

- My Brother, My Brother and Me as well as Wonderful!
They're both incredibly funny and lighthearted. I never get tired of listening to them.
Edit: for the uninitiated, this is probably my favorite episode. [MBMBaM 242](https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/my-brother-my-brother-and-me/id367330921?mt=2&i=1000337240140)

- My Dad Wrote a Porno. I listen to it on my commute and have to stifle my laughter at some of it.

- Dan Carlin's Hardcore History is amazing, far and away my favorite podcast. But it only comes out maybe 4 times a year and the episodes are now 4-5 hours long.
In terms of recurring podcasts, I like Comedy Bang Bang (released every Monday), Joe Rogan (I pick and choose based on guest), Revolutions (and also you can go back and listen to History of Rome, which is completed), and History on Fire is pretty decent.
You'll notice that most of those are history podcasts - I'm not a history buff at all.
It's just that Dan Carlin's podcast is so amazing that it spawned a genre with a couple really good shows.
Seriously, listen to Hardcore History.

- 99% Invisible.
Beautiful podcast about design.

- Mbmbam (My brother my brother and me) is amazing and has had me crying with laughter on numerous occasions.
They also do The Adventure Zone which is also very good. Tears of laughter and feels with that one.

- The Dollop. It's an American history podcast where one writer/comedian (Dave Anthony) tells another comedian (Gareth Reynolds) an obscure story from history. They riff and have a lot of fun at the expense of how truly fucked up much of our history truly is.

- Welcome to Nightvale is amazing. It’s fictional, but it’s 120 episodes strong, well acted and funny. Any show from Nightvale Presents is great, honestly.

- Oh no Ross and Carrie. They investigate all these weird cults / beliefs like UFOs, scientology, flay earthers etc.
