What are the best WW2 movies?

  1. Bridge on the River Kwai.
    — Spam-Monkey

  2. Das Boot. If you haven't seen it, watch it with subtitles in your native language. The dubbed version sucks.
    — Hetzer58

  3. Saving Private Ryan
    — Fall_Bondler

  4. Band of Brothers. (Not technically a movie, but still. Must watch)
    — brojomi

  5. *Ctrl-F Where Eagles Dare... 0 results found* Clearly more people need to see this movie. Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood as British & American spies infiltrating a German castle fortress high up in the Alps. A classic.

  6. The great escape, almost 3 hours long but easily one my favourite films of all time, has some of the biggest names of the time too: Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson etc.

  7. Der Untergang.
    — InsanePumkinCarver

  8. Enemy at the Gates is good. For fun though, I'd go with Inglourious Basterds.
    — Vegan-AF

  9. They're both HBO miniseries, but watch Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Our grandads were a bunch of tough motherfuckers.

  10. The Dirty Dozen. Classic! Also, The Guns of Navarone.

  11. Generation War it’s like band of brothers but from the Germans point of view
    — Shadow963791

  14. This is more of a comedy (i expect you wanted something more serious), but i really enjoyed Kelly's Heroes. Its the movie that made me a Clint Eastwood fan as a kid.
