If you could do an HD remaster of one game from any game system what would it be?

  1. Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. A bloody brilliant game (if you'll forgive the pun). Outstanding world building, amazing quests, and fantastic writing. The concept (based on an existing RPG universe) is brilliant - you are bitten by a vampire and immersed in the LA underground world of vampirism and the occult: lots of warring factions and varying breeds of vampires all wrestling to get to the top of political circles or crime syndicates - if not to just cause utter chaos. Some factions/breeds cast you as a feral vampire that gets progressively more insane as the game moves forward (it even alters your dialogue options), some factions might rely on persuasion and seduction to get you through situations and allow you to solve problems. You need to do all this while trying to fit into society (be it through underground goth or punk scenes - or through a more straightforward approach), without breaking the Masquerade, or losing your humanity, while still balancing your vampiric side by feeding off of victims as stealthily or persuasively as possible. The closest thing I could compare it to would be Fallout New Vegas, in terms of its immersive, and fleshed out world - conflicting factions, player choice/autonomy, and brilliant writing, world building, and quest design. But in some ways Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines does it even better. Why it needs and HD remaster? The game as aged **horribly.** Even when it came out its visual design was a bit...dated...and the whole game is extremely clunky and nearly unfinished/broken in places due to being rushed out the door 6 months too soon. Its so bad that it is recommended that whenever you buy it off of steam you manually install a fan made patch to fix the potholes and make the damn thing playable, from a mechanic/technical standpoint. Also, the game is just so brilliant that more people need to know about it and experience it.

  2. Command and Conquer Red Alert Edit: I have my doubts that this will happen because the company that made C&C was essentially liquidated by.. Was it EA? I suppose someone could pick up the legacy code and run with it though.

  6. I heard Blizzard is doing an HD remaster of Warcraft 3 but im happy and sad about it because they could focus doing Warcraft 4 instead.

  7. I'd love KOTOR2 redone and with the finished storyline. The X-Wing/TIE Fighter series is also incredibly solid. The state of Star Wars video gaming is sort of sad considering how glorious it used to be. There's so many good games that deserve an update over the money grab horseshit we have now.

  8. Jade Empire. That game got me into RPGs. I believe it was one of the first games bioware made that had consequence to choices throughout the story.

  9. Battle for Middle Earth. Kid me played the shit out of this game and loved every minute of it. I even remember playing it on my first computer growing up and since the computer was a piece of garbage I was playing at something like 1-5 FPS during the Minas Tirith battle.

  10. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 - Underground 2. All of them were great. Went down hill after that.
