Mods of Reddit, what's the most suprising,terrifying, or interesting post you've removed from your subreddit?
- I was a mod for a medium sized sub (over 15k members) for a year. The most common thing we had to keep pulling down were posts advertising a product or service related to the sub. There was a process by which you could get an ad posted (essentially us putting in some work to make sure it's not someone scamming our members), so people who tried to circumvent that process had their posts removed.
Most people who had a post removed never tried again or they'd go through the proper process but the most surprising thing that happened was one guy who offered to pay us a thousand bucks to let him keep the post up. For a job that pays nothing, let me tell ya, that was a really tempting offer lol We declined, as was the right thing to do, but I sure was close to being ok with a possible permaban for the lowly sum of $333 (assuming a split with the other 2 mods)

- I moderate four (formerly) default subReddits.
Whenever an attractive woman appears in a given submission – even if she isn't the focus of it – the thread will include several comments that range from graphically lewd to violently vitriolic. I've seen girls promised everything from rape to death (with those threats typically being the more tame ones) simply for having the gall to be visible. Needless to say, the sentiments get removed as quickly as they're submitted.
A lot of folks point to this as evidence that the Internet is full of socially repugnant sociopaths. What those people forget, though, is that there's always a real person on the other side of the screen... and chances are, that person seems like a completely normal individual in the so-called "real world."

- I mod a peer to peer mental health discord server, which isn't quite what you asked for, but what the heck.
In no particular order, here are some annoyances:
* Trolls coming in claiming to be Hitler
* Trolls trying to convince people to commit suicide
* Spammers
* Animal abuse graphically described
From members:
* Broken up fights about which color is best
* Had to give someone a ban for bullying another member
* Animal abuse mentioned
* Spam
I've been a mod three weeks.

- After warning a poster to be civil with mod flair he replied by calling me a pussy and telling me to report him to the mods. That had to be embarrassing for them.

- On /r/DabTJP I removed gay porn from trolls. Surprising because it’s a wrestling subreddit where I previously wrote funny stories on my alt.
