Former kids of Reddit, what were the fidget spinners when you were growing up?
- Virtual pets. For a hot minute they were fucking everywhere.
— i_love_anachronisms
- Slap bracelets. Everyone in school had a dozen or so each but they eventually got banned I think because if the material frayed, the metal beneath had sharp edges.
— delibertine
- Silly bands. They were those dumb cheap rubber bands that were shaped like animals and random objects that people wore as bracelets.
— Swiggity_Krinks
- Beyblades
— Pifbo
- Pogs? They were quite trendy.
But I'm the 90's ADHD was just beginning to be acknowledged so all we had was Ritalin and detention/failing grades. My mom was a special ed teacher and she had some tools and tricks but they were mostly homemade.

- Rulers on pencils.
Until you spin it too fast and it flies off so your teacher confiscates all the rulers.
— tatsuedoa
- Tech decks
— foogers
- Bakugan anyone?

- Log.
"It's log, it's log,
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good."

- Yo-yos had a resurgence around 1998, and then there were Pogs and Tamagotchis
— openforum2011
- cats cradle, rubix cubes
— BECKYISHERE
- Hula hoops, 1960's.
And I presume all you people are off my lawn.
