- My former brother-in-law got me a $50 gift card to Brookstone. Which was essentially like getting a "$50 off something you actually want OR get $50 worth of garbage free at Brookstone" gift card.

- Story Time: So I entered a contest while waiting in line at Starbucks for a drink. I didn't read what it was for but I filled out the little ballot for fun and threw it in. I get a call back a week later. I won a dinner for 2 and a $100 gift card to a place called Cuisine Sante. I get some of the details and hang up the phone. I tell the wife about it and she starts to ask about the details. Basically we had to go to some building and have what I thought was dinner and a little presentation and then we get a $100 gift card. What I didn't realize what it was to watch a presentation on buying kitchen products. The dinner(lol) was them making the cheapest version of chicken cacciatore and upside down pineapple cake. It all tasted bland and the meal sucked. In fact the second we walked in my wife shot me major daggers and she suspected it was a scam and that confirmed it. We get to the end where they are going to give us the money and we realize it was 100 towards their products. Which at one point I thought well at least we can walk away with a pot or pan but nope. The cheapest thing was like $499 plus tax. It was the biggest waste of time and the hundred didn't go anywhere. What a joke.
