If McDonald's wanted to hire you and offered your current salary, would you work for them? Why or why not?
- I'm at work and on reddit right now. Can't do that at McDonald's.
— Manofthedecade
- Fuck no.
Dealing with unhappy customers because the lettuce isn't on the right side of the bun, or didn't put enough onions on, or there were 2 pickles instead of 3, or the fries are too hot/cold/salty/not salty enough.
Having to touch sweaty sock, underwear, bra money.
Having to clean filthy ass bathrooms after someone's stomach decides to violently eject the food they're eating.
Having to deal with parties full of screaming kids.
Having to watch parents being abusive and not being able to do anything about it without losing my job.
Having to clean out the damn grease traps.
Having to break down the fry bins and scrub all the salt off the metal.
Never having a set schedule, being expected to come in at a moment's notice or having to leave early because business is slow. Or having to stay late because your replacement didn't show.
Fuck all that shit. I'd rather scrape dead raccoons off the highway.

- No. McDonalds doesn't have the same benefits and upward mobility potential that my current job has.
— philosoraptor1000
- Fuck yes. Decent pay, none of the ulcer inducing stress. Would you like fries with that?
— SusanxStrange
- If it were for a position working in their corporate office then maybe depending on what the benefit package looks like. If it were for a position in one of their restaurants then absolutely not.
— stagehog81
- Nah, because I get paid min wage.
— itsflashpoint
- I currently work at McDonald's. So, yes?
— ConsiderablyMediocre
- I wouldn't even do it for twice my current salary. I'm a software developer and working at McDonalds seems way more stressful than my current job. I feel bad for the people working the double drive throughs. They have to:
- Take orders
- Keep track of which car has which order
- Take money, make change
I'm sure that's tough enough but you mix in horrible customers and it's got to be awful.
Plus the smell, I'm sure you come home smelling like it. I worked at a fast food Mexican place and came home reeking of grease, lettuce, and onions. Just when it's starting to go away it's time to start another shift.

- No. I don't even want to work at my current job with my current salary.
— BEEFTANK_Jr
- Just to do service? Yes. Yes I would. Days would go quickly, I wouldn't sit at home worrying of the fryers were configured correctly or if my colleagues were ok. I could just put in my time and enjoy my own time
