What's an otherwise great movie with a terrible ending?
- Knowing with Nicolas Cage.

- Rat Race always comes to mind because of how contrasting the ending and the rest of the movie are.

I'm not sure it's 'great' but it's pretty good, then it does have the perfect ending, but for some reason it then keeps going... :(

- Maximum Overdrive
Machines come to life and start killing people. It makes no sense, but it doesn't have to. Through the entire film, people just react naturally to being under siege, trying to survive, and it's good fun.
Then in the last minute a text panel comes up to say "It was aliens that did it, and humanity wins in the end"
It comes out of nowhere and is completely unrelated to the characters who were surviving the disaster on screen. The film would have been so much better just leaving it unexplained.

- [Red Eye](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421239/?ref_=nv_sr_1). It's a thriller directed by Wes Craven and stars Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy. I found it actually to be a fairly decent thriller where Lisa (Rachel McAdams) was just in a bad situation, despite acting fairly rationally and intelligently, unlike a lot of other movies, where they rely upon the main character making dumb decisions to get where they are. And then the last 10 minutes of the film occurs where it becomes stereotypical Hollywood tripe.

- Mama could have been the best damn horror movie if the ending didn't suck

- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
The duel between Harry & Voldemort was just anticlimactic considering the entire series leading to this very moment. It didn't do the eight-movie arc justice.
Dumbledore's fight with Voldemort was far more satisfying. I didn't expect Harry to suddenly do better than Dumbledore, but the ending would have been miles better if the fight itself had more than the usual wand dick-pushing.
Edit: I am quite aware this is based off a book, but the movies have taken many liberties and diverged from the book on numerous occasions, as does every book-based movie. Just look at Half-Blood Prince and how differently the title plotline played out. What's wrong with wishing for a more impactful fight sequence, or even a chance to be MORE faithful to the book? It didn't satisfy in either direction.
