Are you gratuitous or frugal with your up-votes? Why?

  1. Anything I agree with, made me laugh, has a bunch of dislikes for no reason, made me think, or brings up an interesting topic, I upvote. If I appreciate it, I show it.

  2. I give them out like it's nothing. Good way to indicate that I looked at comments but didn't follow the link. RES displays images well, so I don't need to go to imgur or whatever to see them.

  3. Gratuitious. If a comment makes me smile, I upvote it. If it makes me think, "Huh, I didn't know that," I usually upvote it. If I feel like someone spent a long time on a comment, even if I didn't particularly care *myself*, I upvote it. I also tend to upvote the entire chain above that person, unless they're being complete idiots, because they were the reason the comment in question existed in the first place.

  4. Pretty generous. I upvote anything that i agree with or think is worthy of moving up. If it makes me laugh, I'll upvote. If it's a link that's interesting, or a cool picture or something I haven't considers I upvote. If something has been downvoted and I feel like it received it unfairly, even if I don't like it, I'll upvote to even out the karma.

  5. Frugal, mostly because the vast majority of time I spend on here is reading stuff to kill time, so I forget to updoot unless there's something that really grabs my attention.

  6. I'm pretty frugal, generally just because I forget to upvote
