whats a lie that human beings have told themselves for so long we actually believe it?

  1. That we're smart and funny. ~80% of people think they are smarter than average ~99% think they're funnier that average

  2. Deserve. There is no deserve. Nothing is keeping score.

  5. Mostly "it's never going to happen to me.". It is. "I can drink and drive, I am careful", said the man who left a widow and 3 orphans. "I can smoke, my grandpa smoked till he was 90!", said the woman who died young after a long and painful battle with cancer. "I can eat shit and not exercise, there are plenty of fat people alive.", said the 30 year old who had his second heart attack. It's a mentality we all have, unfortunately, and it's hard to fight, but life is cruel, it will fuck you up when you least expect it, so the best we can do is look at others and learn from their examples.

  9. The Just World Fallacy, I think it's called. Basically, believing that the world is a fair place to everyone and if someone is poor/struggling, they must have made poor decisions that led them there. When in reality some people are just born into poverty and can't escape from it, because the world is not fair and we don't all start off life with the same advantages.
