What advice would you give to new Redditors?

  1. DONT. SHARE. YOUR. REDDIT. USERNAME. WITH. IRL. FRIENDS.
    — VibraPwns

  2. Don't say "I might get down voted" or "here comes the down votes" Right before you say something everyone agrees with.
    — TheSluagh

  3. some links should stay blue and never be clicked.
    — pessimistic_lemon

  4. when picking your username, spellcheck it
    — i_wnat_die

  5. Don't fall into the trap of believing that redditors are smarter. The truth about this community is that it REALLY likes to use a pseudo-intellectual tone to hide hilariously faulty reasoning. It's really better to assume whatever reddit thinks is at best 50% true. There is a clear circle-jerk on any topic you can think of, so be really weary to stay away from it. reddit worships logic but doesn't apply it. Honestly, you should stay away from any news/politics sub. reddit is best used for entertainment. Anything else is really obnoxious.

  6. Don't talk about Reddit when you're not on Reddit.
    — phantommunky

  7. Choose your username wisely
    — RugBurnDogDick

  8. Unsubscribe from most of the default subreddits.
    — sickladbro

  9. get out while you still can
