Adult redditors, what do you actually LIKE about "kids/teens these days"?

  1. All the ones I actually know are cool. I used to be the kitchen manager of a soup kitchen and worked every day with a lot of teenage volunteers. They were smart kids with good hearts. There are some I encounter in public who are annoying as fuck, but that's been eternally true of teenagers.

  2. They question things more than ever

  3. You know what, kids these days are really very pleasant and respectful. I think the current generation of teens are much more polite than my generation was.

  4. As time goes on, each generation will have access to more and more information and (hopefully) be able to make important decisions rooted in more fact than those that came before them

  5. I was pleasantly surprised when I became a teacher about what kids now don’t bully each other for. Enormously fat kid I never heard an unkind word about. A girl named Chiquita and I never heard banana attached to her name. I never heard jokes about names like Gagandeep or Sukmeet. Kids got angry because the word retarded was in an old book. I haven’t heard “that’s so gay” for years. Maybe I went to school with a bunch of assholes.

  6. Because they're so wrapped up in video games, they stay off my lawn.

  7. I think older people get a lot of shit for thinking kids are entitled, but that has not been my experience. I'm amazed and impressed by this generation. What some see as entitlement, I see as a willingness not to settle for what their parents settled for. I worry about two specific things with this generation: low frustration tolerance and quickness to identify as victims. The kids who can overcome those things will succeed.
