What’s the best smell in the world?

There is a smell, which only happens after a really cold snap of weather, and the first day of the cold snap, early in the morning. Its like this super cold fresh smell, and everything is just super cold and frozen around you. I love it.

I'd say sea air, or maybe rain. Sea air has that nice cooling breeze, and with the sight and the smell of the kinda salty air, it's the perfect combination. Rain has that strange smell i cant pin down, but opening a window during a downpour always gives a nice breeze and that odd smell. Food also has a great smell, especially when cooking onions or garlic, especially meat like steak too. Though, who doesnt love the smell of cooking food?

Every time I pick up or drop off my daughter I notice the very distinct smell of my ex's place. It's like a mix of vanilla and fruit. I don't know the source of it but it's very familiar because it's the same smell that our house used to have. I'm not sure how she does it. To me her place smells like home and it's the most wonderful smell in the entire world. When it hits me the memories come flooding back and more often than not it makes me tear up as I drive back to my place alone.
