What are some things we know are scientifically possible but don't have the technology for yet?

  1. Color electronic ink

  2. Space elevator. Combined with asteroid mining.

  3. Desalinization of ocean water to use as drinking water. We can do it on a small scale and we can do it very expensively on a large scale, but someday I hope we can provide something cost affordable, easy to maintain, and easy to build/install that third world countries can use to provide safe drinking water for their population from the ocean.

  4. A printer that doesn't suck.

  5. Combining messenger and Facebook into a single app.
    — ChanangoRango

  6. Fusion power plants
    — HHHHnasa

  7. Regrowing teeth. I remember ready a study where some Indian scientists had some luck with it. It probably wouldn't ever make it to the USA though, since dentistry is sort of the final free-for-all section of healthcare and they vigorously defend their ability to charge obscene rates and remain outside of the realm of "healthcare" itself.
