Personal trainers, what's the most cringe-like interaction you've had with a client?

  1. I had a client who wanted help with learning new exercises to combat her desk job. I’m showing her weighted hip extensions and she keeps trying to get me to grab her inner thighs to “help her understand the movement”. We were not in some private or quiet part of the gym but in the crowded centre of the free weight area and she was trying to goad me into grabbing her, to add to this she is engaged. I gave her the full hour and never worked with her again.

  2. I had a rather large client offer to have sex with me instead of paying me in cocaine once.

  3. I had a cringe interaction with a Personal trainer. After my session he advised me to purchase a "stronger" sports bra and asked to buy him one too because it hurts his pecs when he runs.

  4. She wanted me to grope her infront of her boyfriend. (Who took a trial day at the gym). She wore extra skimpy shit that day and got mad that i didnt want to squeeze her ass or tits infront of her bf. Hours after the session her bf comes up to me saying "dont disrespect my girl bruh" Then she texts me a day later like "so what are we?" Lol wat, yeah thats the first client i let go.

  5. At my gym, I see all these young, fit, petite girls hire personal trainers just so they can spend an hour flirting with them. The other day, I'm in there working my ass off and the trainer puts this girl to work. The minute she broke a sweat she started complaining. I almost wanted to stop and ask the trainer if that ever gets old.

  6. I once had a client who bought sessions but had no interest in doing any of the exercises. She would do some exercises with a poor attitude and others would flat out refuse not too. No reason, no injuries or limitations, just didn’t do any. I tried to get her to do basic lunges and she responded “I’m not doing that” and again, no discernible reason why. It got to the point that I bluntly asked her “then why are you even here” and that was the end of the session. She never came back but I kept her on the schedule with occasional follow up emails until her session package ran out. She never responded or showed up again and I was definitely glad for that.

  7. I had a client who had worked with a different trainer before me. It turns out his past personal trainer helped him inject steroids. (And apparenty didn't bother showing him proper form either. ...But that's a whole other issue.) My client argued with me about it every single session: "My last trainer was fine with it. I never had any side-effects! Can't you just help me find some?" Needless to say, I was *not* on board with it, and he did not stick with training.
