Reddit, what song makes you cry?
- That damn song in Toy Story 2 where it shows Jessie's owner getting older and forgetting about her.

- Cats in the cradle - Harry Chapin. I have a son and no defense to this song.

- [Coldplay - Fix You](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4V3Mo61fJM).
When my husband I were dating, he sent me that song to listen to, knowing I liked Coldplay but didn't know a lot of their songs. I wound up ugly crying in the parking lot because it reminds me of my dad - and funnily enough, Chris Martin wrote this for his (ex) wife Gwenyth Paltrow when she lost her dad.
Since then, I have ugly cried both times we heard it in concert together.

- What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. It's really bittersweet to me, as I can't help but picture it as the thoughts of an old man on his deathbed, thinking about all the good in the world but also that he won't get to see any more of it.

- I will follow you into the dark by Death Cab for Cutie

- Peter Gabriel - The Book of Love. I'm not a romantic person, but that song gets me choked up every time, also when it was used in Scrubs at the ending.
Also, Now we are Free, composed by Hans Zimmer, notably from Gladiator; that song is just beautiful.

- There's a song by Atmosphere called "Yesterday" that seriously got me the first time I heard it.
It starts off like...
*I thought I saw you yesterday, but I didn't stop, cuz you was walking the opposite way...*
And then the song is mostly just imagining all the things the narrator would've discussed with this person, had they just stopped and talked to them. It becomes clear that the 2 have a past of some sort. But then the song ends by kinda coming back to the beginning...
*I thought I saw you yesterday, but I know it wasn't you, cuz you passed away, Dad.*
The first time I heard that, it was like the end of Big Daddy, when Sonny and his dad have a sincere moment of emotional reconciliation. I like pulled over and called my dad and made plans to see him.
