Reddit, if every bullet ever shot left a permanent trail through the air where it's flight path was, where would be the most interesting place to see or the most interesting thing to come from it?

  1. Imagine Pasechendale, the Somme, or Verdun. That would be intense, you probably couldn't even see because it would be so thick with the bullet trails.

  2. Shooting ranges would have to pop up constantly since the older ones would have too many paths to see and shoot properly. Animals would know where the most popular hunting spots are.

  3. It would be very unsettling to walk into a house and see a 2 inch bullet trail.

  11. There is an interesting argument that arose in the American Civil War and continues until this day. The first year of the Civil War saw the mass use of upgraded muskets and rifles, while the Armies were still wheeling and marching around the battlefield in Napoleonic formations. The impact of a mass firing of these improved weapons *should* have resulted in *huge* casualties, but they didn't. Near as any of the military historians could tell, the only explanation was that everyone on *both* sides fired high. It is theorized that there is some deep prohibition about killing someone standing right in front of you that will make almost everyone fire too high, without any conscious intention of doing so. So I'd opt to go take your bullet radar back to the Civil War. Are we better humans than we thought? Or are we just lousy shots?

  12. It would be cool if they made an exhibit of the White House back yard where there could’ve been tons of bullet trails from the duels of Andrew Jackson. That would be pretty neat
