What are signs that a guy is in love with his female best friend?

2. If he doesn’t have a girlfriend and tries to do boyfriend things for you. Example, buy you flowers, flirts with you, gets jealous if you spend time with other guys, or doesn’t like your boyfriend even if he’s a great guy, etc.

3. Anecdotal answer? I was in love with my female best friend, but did my very best not to show any signs, because I didn't want her to get the wrong idea about our friendship. I was best friends with her because we genuinely had a lot in common, and we could talk for hours about anything; I didn't want her to ever question the sincerity of our friendship, and think that I was only friends with her because I had feelings for her. I figured I would just be the best version of me, and wish for the best, and hope maybe she'd be attracted in that way, but I understood that if it didn't happen, I'd probably just accept it, and enjoy what we had. Long story short though, over the years there was a lot more tension in our conversations, and subtle flirting gave way to more intense flirting, which gave way to us just opening up about our feelings. 5 years later and now we're engaged. So it all worked out, but honestly, during the earlier stages, you wouldn't have been able to tell at all.

8. Lived this life. My best friend in high school was a girl I carried a torch for but I could never get up the courage to say something.
