What's your "Why would someone post this on social media" story?

  1. I know a girl who cheated on her husband, posted that she cheated on him, tagged him in the post, and then announced and tagged her new boyfriend in the post also. Then a few days later she had the nerve to tell everyone to stop judging her and mind their own business. WAT.

  2. A girl I went to high school with recently posted a picture of her sister and praised her for completing rehab. Now, I don't know why the sister went to rehab or how long she was there, and I think it's great that she was being supportive...but I would have kept that private. It seemed like it wasn't her place to announce that.

  3. "Big changes in store for the Smith family" "Why do bad things always happen to me" "I'm so excited" "FML" Etc. People want to grab your attention then not answer wtf they're talking about like it's top secret. If you don't want people to make assumptions, just stfu

  4. My cousin is one of those "Free Inhabitant" or "Sovereign Citizen" types. She posts all manner of crazy shit. She is currently "homeless" and is mad because she has no family or anyone that cares about her enough to let her stay with them. The truth is, when they ask her to come stay, the only condition of staying with someone is she isn't allowed to bring her junkie friends with her. Since she believes she shouldn't have to follow anyone's rules, at all, ever. She is "homeless." Talks about it constantly. A wealth of crazy.

  5. A female acquaintance had a public Facebook discussion with her boyfriend over the pros and cons of the various lubes they had tried. She was no longer a Facebook acquaintance after that point.

  6. My cousin posted a rant when my aunt od'd (again) and ended up in ICU. It was crass and vulgar. I realized he was an angry teenager at the time, but it was still waaaay tmi for a FB post so I messaged him about how inappropriate it was. After getting defensive and arguing with me via messenger for a few minutes, he realized I was right an deleted the post. Like, dude, she's been an addict her whole life. The whole internet doesn't need to know. ( Note: He didn't live with her at the time and was not in danger. )

  8. A guy in my town's Buy Sell Trade Facebook group posted a picture of a cabinet he was selling. The cabinet had glass doors, and his reflection was in the glass. He was in his underwear. Plenty of people pointed it out, and he was like "Ok ok I get it, I didn't notice that, geez." But he didn't even take the picture down. I don't get how he couldn't have noticed in the first place.

  9. I know a guy who asked all his female followers if they preferred circumcised or uncircumcised cock. All the girls were like "eeww anyone but yours."

  10. It's kind of an ongoing thing, but a mutual acquaintance has rapidly turned into a "I'm smarter and better than all of the people on my facebook friends list." Started posting random articles making sure that he says "I would never do something like this, and people who do are just simply unintelligent." Like he recently posted about how people who travel to countries with poor societies is messed up because you're a "rich traveler shoving your wealth in their faces". I can't look away, it's like a new wreck every day.

  11. I know a couple that just gave birth, and had the entire graphic event photographed professionally. The pictures were definitely powerful and emotional, so they achieved what they were going for I guess.

  12. A Facebook friend of mine is a paramedic. She posts a lot of stories making fun of the patients, mostly mocking strange things they tell her. This shouldn't bother me, but I can only imagine many people who use EMS services aren't always in a coherent state of mind and she's mocking their medical problems by extension. Some of the stuff she's mocking is clearly from people in distress. For example, she had a suicidal patient. The patient told her that his mental illness was triggered by the death of their cat. She then says she had to leave the room because she thought this was funny. She's a real piece of work. Since she's not naming people, I imagine she's not breaking any HIPAA laws, but I still find it offensive and potentially violating to the people she treats. I totally get that paramedics are overworked and underpaid, and she's probably just letting off steam, but these rants are probably best had among fellow paramedics at happy hour and not the entire world.
