Other than Hitler’s mustache, what style or fashion was completely ruined by negative association?

  1. I had a red polo and a blue polo, and every time I wore them with khakis for work people would ask me if I worked at Target or Best Buy. I even foolishly went to Target wearing my red polo and several people asked me to help them find things. I don’t own either of those shirts anymore.

  2. Anything named after the [ancient Egyptian goddess Isis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isis). EDIT: Yeah, like your cat or the organization in Archer.

  4. Ski masks. Great idea to stay warm. Then in the late 70s early 80s it became the standard uniform for criminals/terrorists and wearing one was a good way to scare people as well as stay toasty.

  5. In China wearing a green hat leads people to think your wife cheats on you.

  6. Try being black with an Afro and wear a nice black leather jacket you found on sale that comes with matching gloves because it is cold and then the glare makes you wear dark sunglasses

  7. Back in high school comedian Vaughn Meader who produced an extremely popular comedy record "The First Family". It was hilarious impersonations of JFK, Jackie and other political leaders. It sold flying off the record shelves... until the JFK Assassination. It died with the president practically overnight.
