Parents whose kids never dated/found love/got married, how do you feel about it?

  1. I wonder what my parents think. My sister and I are identical twins. We moved out in our 20's and shared an apartment cause you know, saving on rent. We just haven't stopped sharing an apartment. Everything is split down the middle, most of our furniture is "ours", not "hers" or "mine". We've just always been together. We're now 35 and looking at buying a house. Together. Our parents seem fine with it, they're going to give us some money (BC house prices, even with over $100k cash from them this is going to be nearly impossible to find a place to buy) and they insist we have to stick together. Because we need each other, or so my mom says.

  2. I should ask my father. Then again he also never found love, he and my mother only had me because both hate the idea of abortion.

  3. The only reason my Mother wanted me to date is so she mindfuck my girlfriends into feeding her information about me, which she could then use to manipulate or control me; which she did several times throughout my teenage years and early college life. The only reason my Grandfather wanted me to get married is because he had 4 daughters, but my Mom had me out of wedlock so I have his lastname. He doesn't want his family name to die (too bad).

  4. My 3 sons are near 30 and have shown little interest in marriage and children. It makes me sad they will not experience parenthood and their own family, but it is their choice. I don't discuss it with them. I would if they asked me, though.

  5. I’ve talked to my parents about this subject. They’re just ’concerned’ that I don’t have a girlfriend or never really dated. I just don’t want to be with in a relationship for the rest of my life. I get bored/tired of a repetitive life and I know I will mess that up like I have with friendships.

  6. Well so far, my parents just assume I'm prude and conservative, not because I actually genuinely cannot get a boyfriend.

  7. I'm 31 years old I've had 3 terrible relationships and now I'm basically terrified of women. I don't care what my parents think.

  8. I love my parents but sometimes I feel like they care more that I get a master's degree and a career than find someone. If I bring it up they just brush it off and tell me to focus on school.
