What are some things that people claim happen all the time, but you've never seen?

  1. Personally, I'd like to find the person who got Salmonella from eating raw cookie dough because they ruined my childhood.

  2. I've never met an antivaxxer or a flat earther. My cousin believes the pyramids were built by aliens though, so there's that.

  3. Homeless people masturbating in public. I know it happens, but I have never seen it. For that, I am grateful.

  4. Go to jury duty. My wife has had to go three times, and my sister twice. I kind of would like to do it once.

  5. People claim thousands of babies are born in the country every day but I've never seen someone give birth.

  6. "DON'T HONK AT THAT GUY IN FRONT OF YOU. He'll get out of his car and beat the shit out of you" I'm sure this happens, but after 12 years of driving I've never seen it once.
    — LengthyNoodle

  7. Doctor here. CPR where the person is totally fine the next day. Happens all the time on TV, not so much in real life. Edit: CPR when done correctly, especially after a witnessed arrest and as a bridge to defibrillation or cardioversion (shocks), can dramatically affect survival. I only meant to say that TV underplayed the recovery process. And considering that these patients are basically dead already, CPR is almost always worth a shot.

  8. As a dad, being looked at like I'm a creep for playing with my kids at the park.
