What is the best piece of advice to give to a 18 year old?

  1. It’s okay to admit when you’ve made a mistake. Never be afraid to ask a question for fear of looking dumb.
    — AardvarkAndy

  2. Basically, from this point out, the only people who will even think about you are those that like you (family, friends, etc.). There will now never be any real definition of “popular” for you for the rest of your life. So do what you like to do, speak your mind, and embrace yourself. If other people don’t like it, they’ll just ignore you, and you will end up finding your closest friends.
    — PlatonicTroglodyte

  3. Nobody is the bad guy in their own story.
    — TravelingMan304

  4. Classmate said something you do not like? A dude on the train/bus laughed at your shoes? Just don't give a fuck. The less fucks you give about what someone MIGHT think or say about you, the better you feel.
    — Raz0rking

  5. Have a good work ethic. Be on time, do a good job, have people vouch for you.
    — BigBabyJesus36

  6. Two things. First, learn to cook. Second, if someone won't give you their time, they probably arent worth yours.
    — TemplarReflex777

  7. Teen suicides have skyrocketed in my country the passed decade. No matter how shit things get, they won't always stay that way. Things will get better, even if you're having a hard time for a week, month or year, it will gte better. Also, if/when you break up with that other person, its not the end of the world. You'll meet other people and probably get your heart broken again, but it is not the end of the world and it's okay to cry yourself to sleep everyday for a year, as long as you remember things will always get better.

  8. Be patient with "love". What you want when you're 18 is not going to be what you want when you are 28 and will be much different when you are 38....
    — redsoxmafia

  9. You are the people you hang around with. Surround yourself with lazy people content with the easy life and thats all youll be, associate with people constantly trying to better themselves with real life goals and youll find yourself naturally trying to keep up.
    — Polygon_Windows

  10. Sincerely? Brush your teeth really good.
    — bochilee

  11. Don't model your behavior off of fictional characters. Try to be like Archer, you'll be a destructive alcoholic sexual harasser. Try to be like Sherlock, you'll be a dick who refuses to play well with others because it makes you feel special. Find a real role model who has a rich life, not an invented one that saves the world.
    — quickcrow

  12. Going to with my late grandpa's favorite: When you're 18, you're as smart as you'll ever be. Then you'll spend the rest of your life realizing just how stupid you really are.
