Non-Americans of Reddit, what is one band or song from your country that you think deserves attention?

  5. The tragically hip - bobcaygeon Canada's band, almost any song by them

  6. I'm not Finnish, but I've gotta take the opportunity to mention Finnish band Poets of the Fall. They're fantastic, and I think it's a crime they're not better known outside of Finland. If you want specific song recommendations, maybe start with Carnival of Rust, which is the song that got me into them, or maybe my current obsession, The Ultimate Fling.

  7. Carpenter Brut

  8. The living end - Australian punk rock band. They have been going quite a long time now. They were quite successful in the U.S early in their career - their 1st 2 albums. Played warped tour, did some big tours there. They still go once in a while. What makes them unique is their rockabilly sound but it's honestly catchy as fuck too. It's like punk rock, but punk you can really sing to. And the lead guitarist is revered as one of the best in the world. He truly rips. Anyway go YouTube them. Some classics of theirs are: Prisoner of society Second solution Roll on Pictures in the mirror Who's gonna save us Uncle Harry End of the world (my personal favourite) Wake up What's on your radio White noise The ending is just the beginning repeating Monkey

  9. [Lights](https://www.youtube.com/user/lights). She's got some really wholesome music and I know that she's not going to appeal to everyone. But outside her own country I don't think she nets the following she deserves. She also wrote and illustrated her own comic to accompany her latest album. EDIT: She recently won a Juno (Canadian Grammy) Lights is a pop artist, though she’s often referred to as more electric, synth pop. Her husband is Beau Bokan from Blessthefall https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beau_Bokan She’s currently on tour right now http://music.iamlights.com/tour/ You can preview her comic here: https://nerdist.com/read-the-first-pages-of-musician-lights-original-comic-skin-and-earth-exclusive/

  11. From Sweden - Kent. Without doubt one of the most enduring and popular Swedish (and Scandinavian) rock bands. They disbanded in 2016 after being active for 16 years. They tried to break through in the US market, releasing two of their albums in English. They got positive reviews and some rotation on college radios but never broke through to something main stream. After that they focused on their Scandinavian fans for which I’m eternally grateful because their songs are so much better in Swedish. You can find all of their music on Spotify and most of it on YouTube. [Kent](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_(band))
