What's the BEST concert you've ever been to?
- Tom Petty. I saw him a month before he died. He played all his hits, maybe one or two new songs. The crowd was good, he was good, it was amazing. He had been the #1 artist I wanted to see in concert, and my mom bought me tickets for my birthday.

- Gorillaz performing plastic beach with a full orchestra
— JackTheeRippa
- Carlos Santana. He may be old, but he can still work that guitar. Amazing show.
— Smallwater
- Led Zepplin. I’m old.

- I've seen RUSH quite a few times, but I was lucky enough to see them front row once. We got to our seats and not only was this front row, but we were right in front of Geddy. You know how someone at a concert goes "oh my God, he looked right at me!"....well me and Geddy made eye contact no less than 2 dozen times during that show. They always throw out shirts at the end of the show - Geddy walked to the edge of the stage and underhanded one right in my chest. A gift to me from a deity.
My wedding day and my son's birthday still sit at #2 and #3 best days of my life.

- A lot of artists I've seen could qualify, people like Billy Joel, Elton John, Paul McCartney, etc, so I really don't have an overall best concert. But this one was one of my favorites I've gone to based on energy and sound alone.
Neutral Milk Hotel was incredible. Saw them in 2015 on their reunion tour and was blown away. High energy from not only the band, but from the fans as well. Jeff Mangum sounded great. I just had a terrific time overall!

- Iron Maiden. I wasn't even an Iron Maiden fan really before we went, but my roommates and I were on a summer of "See every concert we can." We had heard that Iron Maiden was playing at Compton terrace, but were running late due to a special effects truck overturning, so we decided to go last minute. We missed the opening band, and were making a joke about wanting to really see them and not the headliner, but were willing to see this Iron Butterfly or whoever they were. (The opener was Guns and Roses, so, this was actually true.)
It didn't work, they still made us pay full price for tickets.
Over two and a half hours late, they finally start up. With the music raring, the lead singer comes running out, and immediately falls flat on his ass from a wet spot on the stage.
He finishes the first song, and then goes on a less than minute rant basically saying our truck overturned, we lost a bunch of special effects, I just fell, its rainy, today sucks, but fuck all this we're gonna play our hearts out!
And they did, going non stop for a good two hours straight. Full energy, still had great effects (I wonder how amazing it would have been if that last truck made it), no mistakes, and, no jokes, at the end the drummer through a FUCKING CYMBAL into the audience. I am amazed nobody was decapitated.
They made a fan out of me that day.

- Foo fighters are pretty much my favorite band live. They play all the fan favorites, interact with the audience, and engage them.
I've seen then a couple times, and really enjoyed myself.

- Muse at the Mayan theater in LA.
— laila4k
- Saw Drake Bell preform the theme song to drake and josh live, so that was fun.
— Craftychicken
- Radiohead for the insane visuals and music collaboration.
Queens of the Stone Age just freaking brings it at their shows. Loud, heavy, and the drummer (Jon Theodore) is insane.
Umphreys McGee put on a pretty awesome show as well. Their light show, once it gets dark, is something to behold. My brother in law has seen over 100 shows of theirs and travels all over the midwest to see them. Took me to my one show I've seen of theirs and was good enough to where I had to purchase the concert digitally. The band just works so well together.
Honorable Mention: Audioslave
Chris Cornell's voice was something I'll never forget. How he was able to contain that voice for an entire tour is beyond me. They would do Soundgarden/Rage Against the Machine covers, and it was awesome.

- Saw Ninja Sex Party with TWRP in Nashville last year.
I have never had so much fun at a concert before, Dan is the sweetest and most sincere performer I've ever seen. Then TWRP has to be one of the most talented groups I've ever witnessed.
I saw TWRP live again less than 10 days later

- Weird Al. Great musicianship, costume changes, comedy between songs, and a thoroughly entertained audience made up of all ages.
The audio mix was better than most concerts as well because he insists that the vocals be heard clearly.

- Duran Duran. They were good, but what made the concert memorable was Betty.
For context, at the time of this concert I'm a 26 year old male, with my brother in law who's about 30. While on the lawn, we notice this pair of women--one of is your very stereotypical butch lesbian. At some point, she wanders up to us and introduces herself as Betty, and tells us she's 46 years old. Apparently, the other woman with her is her daughter, and she (the daughter) thinks me and my brother in law are cute. But, she's too embarassed to say anything (In her words, as told by Betty, "look at us--they probably already pegged us as a lesbian couple"), so momma had to come do it for her.
We got to chatting, and all was well and good. At some point the daughter wanders off, I guess we weren't as cute up close. Or her mom was embarrassing her. Regardless, it was just me, my brother in law, and Betty. Then Duran Duran started singing Ordinary World. Me and Betty are singing along, and she's watching me intently. I eventually tell her "I feel like I'm being quizzed on the lyrics here, you're watching my every word". She says nothing but puckers her lips.
How's that old saying go? When at a Duran Duran concert, do as the Duran Duran concert attendees do. I went in, and me and Betty, a lesbian 20 years my senior, shared a passionate kiss. Then she said "It's called life experiences. Life experiences" and walked away.
I never saw Betty again.

- Roger Waters on “The Wall” tour was a damn near religious experience.
Rush on the R40 tour was absolutely insane. I was there the first time they ever played “Losing It”, and the entire second set was perfection.
Bruce Springsteen I have seen a few times and he always tears it down. The last one I was at I left and realied the concert was 3 hours and I was like “huh, that’s a lot shorter than the other ones were”. The dude just has endless energy, great crowd interaction, takes requests a lot, constantly changes it up, does actual unplanned encores. It feels like what a live show should be like it.

- Chaperoned my little brother to a Machine Gun Kelly concert a few years back. I’m not a fan of his music personally but he is one hell of a performer. It was like one big party.
