  5. It's a little early to tell, but I suspect it will be the ongoing sexual harrassment allegations that are coming out after years and years. Either it will empower more people to make a stand (male and female alike, I hasten to add; I'm curious to see what the response will be to the first person who accuses a high-profile female celebrity of assault, but I hope it will be treated with appropriate seriousness), or there'll be a backlash from people who just want the problem to go away, despite the fact that that has, historically, done precisely nothing. Either way, there's going to be a lot of asterisks next to a lot of careers after this.

  10. Division. Between the Scottish referendum, Brexit, the Catalonian independence vote, the rise of far-right parties around the world, the expanding and more vocal anti-Europe, anti-Euro, neo-fascist movements, it feels like we've fanned the flame of individualism and communautarism. If I were to guess why, I would say that globalization has been happening too fast for populations to accept it, and not solidly enough to inspire trust in it, and that the business model of media outlets today is responsible for those "information vortices". Also a general sense of distrust in political and economical systems, or is it just me getting older?
