What's illegal but not enforced?


  1. In my state using some fireworks are illegal. They never enforce it, and just use it so insurance doesn’t have to pay for firework injuries

  3. Oddly enough, I've noticed that perjury is not often enforced. It's so common for people to lie in court, almost expected. I've seen it happen a lot, where people get called out and caught lying in court, and nothing happens.

  5. It's illegal to dance in NYC, unless you're at a place with a "dancing license". But I guess cops have more pressing things to deal with in the city so.

  6. Sex toys not legal in Alabama, cohabitation is technically illegal in FL, MI, MS, NC, ND, VA and WV, although NC's law was declared unconstitutional by state courts.

  9. In Fairbanks, Alaska, it is technically illegal to be drunk in a bar. I have never seen that enforced and I have violated that law many times.

  10. In the Netherlands, people think that weed is legal (Amsterdam and all), but it's actually not. There is a gap in the Dutch law that basically says: you can't smoke weed, but if you do, we won't care. Same for the "coffee shops": they can only get about 2 grams of weed to sell, which is the maximum amount you can grow here. But they obviously sell much more, but because of the "gedoogd" law, the police have to ignore it
