What do you fucking hate doing but do it anyway because society and the people around you expect it?

  1. Travel to 3 different places on Thanksgiving and 6 between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
    — Buwaro

  2. I hate shaving my legs. I would never pick up a razor again if I could.
    — Ivytheforestmaiden

  3. Not being able to swing in the middle of the day with kids playing around. I just want to swing. I'm not a pedophile, goddamit.

  4. Go to baby showers. I fucking hate baby showers.
    — tengolacamisanegra

  5. Going to family gatherings. I don't want to sit there and talk about my college major and goals for the 949494948585th person who just asked.

  6. Pretend everything is OK. I know this is a cliche response but damn I’m tired of it. We all skirt around our personal issues with ourselves and each other. My family feels like it’s slipping apart and we’re all just pretending nothing has changed. Last Christmas my oldest niece (in college) didn’t even show up and no one really said shit about it. Our family gatherings are weird and feel forced. I hate going but between the guilt and desire to see my nieces/nephews, I go. Part of it is that one of my sisters is clearly going through some shit but none of us want to poke that bear. I was never *really* close with my parents but I was with my sisters. I miss it. I don’t have any friends so they were kind of my way out of my head. Also, wearing a bra. I hate those fuckers.

  7. Work. I hate working. There's so much I want to do in life, that working is the last thing I want to do. And it's not a matter of finding something I like. I've clerked at bookstores, general retail, worked fast food. Worked as a waiter. I've laid pipe. I've framed houses. I've put roofs on houses. I've loaded trucks; I've unloaded trucks. I've been a trainer. I've been in management. I've done phone support, phone sales, and chat sales. Unfortunately it takes money to do the other things I want to do, so work it is.

  8. Putting on a bra every. Fucking. Day.
    — Montuckette

  9. I sometimes say "bless you". I think it's stupid, but dont want to be rude. Like do I really need to acknowledge that you just sneezed? Smh.
    — saint_skank

  10. Make small talk conversation about stuff I don't care about. Politics, sports, media drama, the weather, etc
    — Vercingetorix_

  11. Being in someone’s wedding. Buying a hideous dress I’ll never wear again for an inordinate amount of money. Spend money on a bachelorette party, wedding weekend, wedding gift, matching jewelry, hair. As God as my witness I will never be in another wedding again. Sorry future unwed friends. We’ll come and bring you a toaster.

  12. Small talk with my collegues during lunch. I actually like the group, but I'd much rather just put on a podcast in my headphones and forget about everything work related for 30 minutes.
    — DukeVonTitle

  13. Wear collared shirts. I don't want to dress up for work. I don't understand why I can't go from business casual to just casual. I don't see clients, so why can't I wear comfy clothes or shorts (especially in the summer)?
