What do you think is the single most important thing to be a good person?

  1. Be honest inside your own head about your own motivations. If you take something because you want it, then be honest and know that it’s because you want it, don’t tell yourself lies about why you deserve it. If you don’t trust someone because they’re black or female or atheist, be honest in your head that’s the reason why instead of making up more acceptable excuses to dislike that person. A “good person” isn’t someone who doesn’t ever feel selfish or unfairly prejudiced, it’s someone who recognizes this about themself and works on behaving well in spite of it.

  3. Kindness. It fucking matters. You can change someone's entire life with a simply moment of kindness. It brings hope.

  4. Integrity. Doing the right thing even when no one is watching and not compromising your own ethics or morals because you think you can get away with it or because other people do. Course that's all subjective, a Nazi with integrity would kill a jew even though they could have let them go, since that's what they believe is right and they are doing what's best. Another person would risk their life to protect the jew because that's their right thing to do.
